This series will allow us to dig deeper into what it means to follow Christ and be rooted in Him, shaped by Him, and filled with His Spirit. Growing strong and holding firm in our faith can only happen when our lives and hearts are rooted in Jesus, and when we do this, we’ll discover what is most important to God: that we love Him and love others.

We’ll understand that being rooted in Him causes His love to transform us, that He calls us to be humble like Jesus, and that love and wisdom come from God.

When we allow ourselves to be rooted in His love, we will grow, flourish, and live abundant, fruit-filled lives.

As you prepare for this series, invite God to root your own life more deeply in His love. This is the best way to be become the leader your kids need you to be.

Series Invitation

Each August, our apple tree begins to drop ripe, juicy apples. My whole family groans a bit because, while we love applesauce and pie as much as the next family, it means we must drop everything for a week, so we can get all the apples picked and processed. It’s a lot of work, and even after a week of chopping and canning, there are still several laundry baskets overflowing with apples. I post a photo in my local upcycling groups and people show up at my door to collect as many free apples as they can handle.

My apple tree is a lot like the life of a Jesus-follower.

In this series, we learn that when we live our lives rooted in Christ, His love flows through us, like sap bringing nutrients to an apple. When we’re rooted in God’s love, we’re slowly transformed into people who display the fruits of humility and wisdom. We become people who use our words and deeds for the good of others and not just ourselves. Like my tree overflowing with enough fruit to feed my neighbors, our rootedness gives us the ability to love God and love others.

As you prepare for this series, invite God to root your own life more deeply in His love. This is the best way to be become the leader your kids need you to be.
