Jesus is still defeating death, still sparking new life in the hearts of His followers. Jesus is still our rescuer.
Throughout the arc of God’s big story, we see God at work executing a rescue plan to bring His people from slavery to freedom, death to life. During the Easter season, we remember that God’s own Son, Jesus Christ, came once for all, offering the way into God’s presence by way of His life and His blood.
In this five-lesson series, we’ll walk through what it looks like for God to show up, promise His presence, and make the way where there was none. We will connect the long journey of God’s people from slavery to freedom, from Moses and the Israelites in Egypt to the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Jesus is alive, and because of Him, we can transition from slavery to freedom, from death to life—now those are connections worth celebrating!
Series Invitation
I once chatted with a runner who’d helped carry the Olympic torch on its way to the Salt Lake City Winter Games. “It was the honor of my lifetime to witness history in the making,” he said. “And I loved proclaiming peace as I carried the torch.”
You’re about to feel like he felt—but more so.
In the next few lessons, you’ll declare the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection. You’ll shine a spotlight on the pivotal event in history: the moment Jesus crushed death beneath His feet as He walked out of a tomb. The moment of our rescue.
And it’s not just a historical event. Jesus is still defeating death, still sparking new life in the hearts of His followers. Jesus is still our rescuer.
Plus, there’s no better way to proclaim peace than to point others—your kids, especially—to the Prince of Peace.
So prepare for these lessons prayerfully. Read through each lesson’s Scripture passage several times. Remember that the same God who spoke from a burning bush and parted the sea raised His Son from death’s grip and made the way for us to walk in freedom from sin. Let those truths work in your life, so through you, they’ll have a greater impact on the lives of kids you serve.
Then hoist those truths high. Sprint with them boldly. Let them shine for every child in your ministry to see.
Run well, friend. We’re praying for you.
