Easter Lessons

Our curriculum includes Easter object lessons, experiments, and activities that spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and get kids thinking about the wonder of God. This includes 4 lesson steps:

  1. Curiosity
Lessons begin with an object lesson, experiment, or activity that sparks kids’ curiosity, encourages their wonder, and gets them thinking about God.
For example, in Ezekiel and the Dry Bones, a lesson from the Risen Series, children begin by answering a welcome question and dive further into more curiosity questions as a group. Following the discussion comes a STEM activity and a declaration!
  2. Belief
Following Curiosity is Belief. This step is an interactive dive into Scripture that helps kids know God more as they explore His big story.
For example, in Ezekiel and the Dry Bones, this step has a prayer of invitation that helps leaders and kids posture their hearts to hear from God. Next, kids hear, watch, and experience the Bible story. Each Bible story is then connected to the Wonder Truth and the Word of Wonder for the series.
  3. Faith
This step is an intentional conversation that helps kids connect God’s story to their own. The Faith step is designed to help kids find their place in God’s kingdom as they build faith in Him.
In the Risen Series’ Ezekiel and the Dry Bones lesson, there is a Word of Wonder activity to help kids memorize Scripture. This is followed by discussion questions and small group prayer time.
  4. Identity
The final step in Wonder Ink lessons is Identity. This step is an interactive worship response activity that creates space for kids to hear from and respond to God. It is created to remind kids of these core truths: I am known, loved, led, and my life can tell of God’s wonder.
The Ezekiel and the Dry Bones lesson includes a prayer for responding in worship as well as a time where leaders can speak a blessing over the kids in your ministry. It’s a powerful way to invite God into the room to do what only He can do–change hearts and lives.

Key Verses

God’s Word is central to our faith and the core of what we teach. Our curriculum puts Scripture at the forefront of every lesson in our Risen Easter series, with an emphasis on the following key passages and Bible stories:

  • Ezekiel 37: Ezekiel and the Dry Bones
  • Jonah 1–4; Matthew 12: Jonah
  • John 11: Lazarus
  • Mark 11: Triumphal Entry–Jesus Enters Jerusalem
  • Matthew 27–28: Crucifixion and Resurrection

Plus, each lesson points to the Word of Wonder for the series. The Word of Wonder is the Scripture that kids can work to memorize as the lessons tie back to it each week.

For the Risen Series, the Word of Wonder is Titus 3:5 (NIrV), “He saved us. It wasn’t because of the good things we had done. It was because of his mercy. He saved us by washing away our sins. We were born again. The Holy Spirit gave us new life.”

Volunteer Tools For Easter Sunday School Lessons

At Wonder Ink, we know how valuable it is to have an awesome team of dedicated volunteers for your children’s program. That’s why your Easter Sunday school lessons should meet their needs, too. Our curriculum offers volunteer prep resources, as well as communication templates to help children’s ministry leaders share important information with parents and volunteers. These resources make it easy for your volunteers to do their jobs—and to gain something from the experience!

Included in every lesson is a For Leaders section. This section gives an Invitation and Foundational Building Blocks. In the Invitation, your teachers and volunteers are invited to pause, listen, and shift their gaze toward God. It includes the Lesson-at-a-Glance along with encouragement from a fellow children’s ministry leader.

The Foundational Building Blocks include sections that explain the Bible story, including: Who, What, Where, When, and Connecting to God’s Big Story. This section helps leaders and volunteers understand key information about passages they may otherwise not have known!
