The Holy Spirit isn’t merely a sidekick; He is God, our helper!
We often use the word helper to describe someone who is well-meaning but not that powerful, like the sidekick to a superhero. But when Jesus told His disciples in John 16:7 that He was sending a helper, He was promising someone so much more than a sidekick!
The Holy Spirit is the very fullness of God—fully powerful, fully wise, fully loving. The Holy Spirit is God, and just as Jesus promised, the Holy Spirit is with us! In this series, we’ll see the Holy Spirit work through Paul, move in prison-breaking power, help us pray, and unite the church.

Series Invitation
If you have kids or work with kids, you know they love to help! Our kids want to help all the time, help cook, help clean, help … drive the car. It’s good for us to know their limitations because sometimes their “help” results in a bigger mess. It’s important for us to know where they can help and where they need help.
As believers in Jesus, we aren’t much different. Sometimes we insist on doing things our way and end up making a bigger mess. God knows this, and He has sent His Holy Spirit to be our helper! The Spirit can guide us through decisions, help us pray, show up in powerful ways, and even bring us together.
Read the Word of Wonder, and as you lead the kids in your ministry, allow the Holy Spirit to remind you that we are all children of God when we are led by Him.
Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. —Romans 8:14
It doesn’t always come naturally for us to let go and trust the helper, but when we do, we can watch God work wondrous miracles! How have you made a mess of things working on your own? Do you find yourself turning to the Spirit when you need help? Remember, God has not left us to navigate this life alone. We are His beloved children, and He is here to help.
